Romania is a country full of history, culture, traditions as well as architectural monuments, natural beauty and more. The country’s eventful history is also reflected in the numerous castles and palaces. These national monuments and landmarks of Romania are sometimes among the best medieval buildings in the world. The architectural styles are as varied as the historical buildings themselves. Whether Gothic-Renaissance, Romanesque or Neo-Romanian, the architectural monuments will inspire you.
In particular, the region of Transylvania is known for its numerous and magnificent castles and fortresses, but other regions in eastern Romania also have historic buildings that are among the most beautiful in Europe.

Castles Palaces in Romania
Among all the castles of Romania or Transylvania, Bran Castle (Castelul Bran), also called Dracula Castle, is probably the most famous. Because this old and very well preserved castle is said to have served as the inspiration (template) of the world famous novel Dracula. Prince Vlad III called the Impaler, who is said to have served as the model of the fictional novel character Dracula for the writer, is said to have lived in the castle.
You should have seen Bran Castle and Hunedoara Castle. The Peles Castle (Castelul Peles) in Sinaia is also beautiful. A magnificent building from the 19th century, which today houses a museum. I also recommend the Rasnov Citadel, the Brasov Citadel, Malaiesti Castle, Huniade Castle, Fagaras Castle, Deva Citadel, Catacuzino Castle. A must is also a visit to the city of Sighisoara, in the center of which are numerous old towers of the former fortifications. The largest palace in Romania, the Palace of Parliament (Palatul Parlamentului) is located in the capital Bucharest and dates back to the Ceausescu era, who could not live to see the palace finished.
In eastern Romania is the Palace of Culture (Palatul Culturii), which is one of the most beautiful in Europe. Also in the east of Romania is the Neamt Castle (Cetatea Neamt) in the village of Targu Neamt. Also worth mentioning is Suceava Castle (Cetatea de Scaun a Sucevei) in the town of the same name. These were only some of the castles in Romania and Transylvania.
