The Royal Palace of Bucharest (Palatul Regal din Bucuresti) is a beautiful building and today houses the National Art Museum of Romania (Muzeul National de Arta al Romaniei). The palace is located directly on the Piata Revolutiei, which you should also visit.

Royal Palace

The Royal Palace was built at the end of the 19th century and has undergone numerous structural changes and uses since then. Its current form dates back to 1937. It was the seat of nobles and the King of Romania and, after extensive renovation work between 1990-2000, is once again the seat of the National Art Museum of Romania, which houses a collection of famous paintings and sculptures by Romanian and international artists. But the building itself is very impressive, both from the outside and the inside. You shouldn’t miss this monumental building. I recommend a walk along the beautiful Calea Victoriei boulevard, which is home to the Palatul Regal and numerous other buildings worth seeing.
