A part of today’s Romania was called Banat in the past. Today this region includes the counties (Romanian: Judetul) Timis, Caras-Severin. The region borders the Republic of Serbia to the west and is bordered by the Danube River to the south. In the north of Banat lies the Romanian part of the country Crisana and in the east Transylvania (Transilvania) and Small Wallachia (Oltenia). Banat is only a small part of Romania, but nevertheless it is very interesting, rich in culture and nature. Banat is a recommended destination that will inspire you.

It is quieter in Anina-Steierdorf. You will also find peace in nature. Well, not always, the water at the Bigar Cascade Falls falls thunderously into the depths. The water of Lacul Dracului, on the other hand, is very calm and shines turquoise blue in the sun. No less impressive is the lake Lacul Ochiul Beiului.
