The Postavarul Massif (Postavarul Mountains) belongs to the Eastern Carpathians and is located near the beautiful city of Brasov. The Postavarul Massif includes both the highest peak of the same name, where the famous ski resort Poiana Brasov is located, and the rock formation of Solomon’s Rock and Tampa Mountain, in front of whose foot Brasov is located.
Postavarul Massif:
In the well-known ski & hiking resort Poiana Brasov lies the highest peak of Masivul Postavarul. The peak Postavarul (Varful Postavarul) has an altitude of about 1800 meters and can be reached by several hiking trails as well as by telecabina. There is a restaurant right next to the cable car station and a bit below as well. The view is magnificent. Everyone who is in Poiana Brasov should take the opportunity to reach the top.
As I said, with the cable car it is quite comfortable, on the hiking trails it requires some effort. In winter, the area is teeming with skiers who ski down to the valley on several routes.
The Postavarul Massif includes following areas (nature reserves):
Mount Tampa also belongs to the Postavarul Massif and with an altitude of about 960 meters it is a rather small mountain in the Carpathian Mountains
Solomon’s Rock (Pietrele lui Solomon), a beautiful rock formation in the Postavarul Massif near the city of Brasov.
In the Ski & Hiking Resort Poiana Brasov lies the highest peak of Postavarul Massif with an altitude of about 1800 meters.
