Solomon’s Rock (Pietrele lui Solomon), the rock formation is located not far from the city of Brasov and is a popular recreational area. Here you can go hiking, biking and tobogganing in winter. In addition, at the foot of the mountain (Pietrele lui Solomon), is a picnic area where you can barbecue in the summer. As is often the case in Romania, there is a legend about Solomon’s Mountain. It is said that a king fell from his horse here and his fall divided the mountain.

Solomon´s Rock

The rock belongs to the Postavarul Massif and offers some beautiful hiking trails. For example, from here you can go to Poiana Brasov, the famous ski resort. You can walk the trail all year round. In winter it was even more crowded than in summer, but pay attention to your footwear.
Solomon’s Mountain is not only beautiful to look at, but you can also climb in the surrounding area. Many people I saw also took the water from the spring, because it is supposed to be very healthy. At least it is ice cold and a welcome refreshment in summer.

You can reach the mountain from Brasov either by bus line 50 or by car, bicycle or on foot via the street Strada Podul Cretului. The trail to Poiana Brasov starts at the parking lot, keeping to the right. A hiking trail also starts in front of the picnic area.
