Ramnicu Valcea has the title of “sustainable European city” and is located in the historical region of Wallachia (Muntenia) in Romania near the river Olt (Alt). And if you’re already on the road, why not drive over the highest pass road in Romania, the Transalpina will thrill you. More relaxing might be a boat trip on the 0lt River, the one from Căciulata, for example. And in the spas of Călimănești-Căciulata you can relax or try one of the numerous treatments. Finally, I should mention the town of Horezu with its world-famous monastery and ceramic workshops, which is only 50 kilometers away.
