Mamaia is the oldest seaside resort on the Romanian Black Sea coast and is located in close proximity to the port city of Constanta. The famous seaside resort is also located on a headland between the Black Sea and the freshwater lake Siutghiol. Unique in Mamaia, however, is not only the location, but also the long pier and the cable car. The Telegondola, as the cable car is called, stretches over the promenade for about 2.5 kilometers parallel to the Black Sea coast. For me, a must for any visitor to Mamaia.
Numerous sports and leisure activities such as water sports windsurfing, jet skiing, water skiing and diving are also part of the offer of the seaside resort. The restaurants and bars on the beach also offer something for almost every taste. As in other countries, the hotels in Mamaia have placed their sunbeds directly on the beach, and can usually be used by hotel guests free of charge. If you are looking for entertainment, sun, beach and sea, Mamaia is definitely the right place for you.

Address:
I would like to give one hint at this point. The prices are not always moderate. Some beach clubs are extravagant and that costs a little more, but so it is everywhere in the world. Otherwise, I found the prices for the most popular resort on the Romanian Riviera to be ok, and if you drive a few kilometers to the supermarket in town, the prices are back to normal. On the way from Mamaia to Constanta there is also the dolphinarium. Not to forget the fun pool Aqua Magic at the Bulevardul Mamaia. If you are looking for entertainment, sun, beach and sea, Mamaia is definitely the right place for you.

However, the swimming season in Romania is not year-round. It starts on May 1 and ends in mid to late September, depending on the temperature. By the way, the summer months in Romania can be very hot and reach temperatures around 30 °C, so a bath in the Black Sea is a welcome cooling. If you prefer a cool beer, you can get it in the numerous restaurants or beach bars in the seaside resorts. Out of season, however, the stores, restaurants, clubs and other attractions are mostly closed in the seaside resorts. Some supermarkets are open and you can get everything in the larger towns (Constanta / Mangalia).
