The highest cable car in Romania is the Balea Lac cable car, also known as the “Transfagarasan cable car”. It is located in the beautiful Fagaras Mountains and connects the Transfagarasan Strait with Lake Balea at an altitude of over 2,000 metres above sea level. Another exciting cable car is the “Telegondola Mamaia”, which stretches over the seaside resort along the Black Sea coast and offers spectacular views of the beach and the surrounding coastline. The Telecabina in Deva, which leads up to the medieval castle, is also very special. It was built in 1971 and is one of the longest and steepest inclined railway lines in Europe. Sinaia – Cota 1400 cable car (Gondola Sinaia (1000-1400)) This cable car connects the town of Sinaia with the ski resort at an altitude of around 1400 metres.
