The Romanian city of Hunedoara is located in Transylvania and is especially known for the beautiful Hunedoara Castle (Castelul de Hunedoara). The medieval castle was built in the 15th century and is also known as Dracula Castle or Corvin Castle and is one of the most beautiful Gothic buildings in Europe. The city itself is mostly characterized by residential buildings. Only occasionally you can find beautiful historical buildings such as the Catedrala Sfintii Imparati Constantin si Elena or Casa de Cultura.
Most tourists come to Hunedoara only to visit the magnificent castle. However, Hunedoara can also be used as a base to explore the attractions of the region, including the town of Deva with its castle as well as the Cincis Lake or the nature park (Parcul Natural Grădiştea Muncelului ). Not far away is the monastery (Manastirea Prislop) or the historical building Conacul Berthelot. For accommodation there are a few hotels, but also apartments and guesthouses.

Here you can also find numerous hiking trails through idyllic forests. Also popular is the lake Lacul Cincis, which invites you to take a walk, and where you will also find a small beach, pubs and boat rentals. Also worth mentioning are the ruins of Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa, a remnant from the Roman times.
