Hoia-Baciu (Padurea Hoia-Baciu) is actually a beautiful forest area near the city of Cluj-Napoca, characterised by beautiful trees, some of these have strange shapes. However, numerous legends also circulate around the forest area. Extraordinary phenomena are said to have occurred here. Officially, however, Hoia Baciu is considered a recreational area and is a popular forest for walks. However, not everyone dares to go there alone. Guided tours with the Hoia Baciu project team are therefore popular.

You can find the supposedly scariest forest in the world near the city of Cluj-Napoca in the legendary Transylvania. You can park your car at the Strada Donath or the Strada Cabanei. Several hiking trails lead through the small forest area, so you can’t really lose track. The highest point is 534 metres, but the most interesting place is probably the Poiana Rotunda, which translates as the round meadow, a circular clearing where no trees grow. The forest area also offers several cycle paths and you should also have seen the Cheile Baciului, a nature reserve with limestone gorges, which lies to the north of the Hoia-Baciu forest.
