Gorge Zarnestiului

In the beautiful nature reserve Piatra Craiului (Parcul National Piatra Craiului) stretches the Zarnesti Gorge (Prapastiile Zarnestiului), whose rugged rock formations are partly 200 meters high and rise vertically. A hiking trail that starts behind the town of Zarnesti right at the Fantana Lui Botoroq spring leads you directly into the gorge. From Zarnesti train station it is a few kilometers, which you can also reach by cab. If you come by car, you can park in the immediate vicinity of the spring, but the road to it is a pure gravel road. A trip to the national park is more than recommendable. The mighty limestone formations will impress you.
