Cincis Lake (Lacul Cincis) is a beautiful lake in Hunedoara County in Transylvania and today it is a popular recreational area. It is a reservoir to which a village fell victim, and therefore some legends surround the lake. The 867 hectare lake offers opportunities for water sports including swimming and boat rentals. You can also fish here: You can catch carp, pike and mullet as well as other fish in the lake. You can also lie on the beach and explore the surroundings. On the northern shore of the lake you can find beaches, campsites and restaurants. You can reach the lake by the road of Hunedoara, which stretches almost around the whole lake.
Cincis Lake (Lacul Cincis)
On the left shore (north shore) of the lake today you can find hotels, guesthouses and restaurants. The lake invites you to sunbathe and swim. But be careful. The right shore can only be reached by a footpath and from the road that leads from Hunedoara to the lake you always have a beautiful view of the lake.
The legends about the lake Lacul Cincis say, on the one hand, that you can see the church towers of the flooded villages at low water level. There is also talk of monsters, but no one has been able to prove this credibly. If you want to know more, ask locals on the spot. However, all this does not deter tourists and visitors who spend their free time here in the summer.
